Inspirational

Many of you have heard of Team Hoyt. They are a father and son team that race in marathons and triathlons together (the son has cerebral palsy and rides along in special equipment) . Well, today I was picking up Jordyn's diapers from a wheelchair and medical store. I saw a magazine with a picture of a dad on a road racing bike, pulling his son behind him in a special wheelchair(photo below), and I was immediately intrigued! I brought the magazine home and read the short article on them. They are just like Team Hoyt and they run races and triathlons together. The dad was inspired by Team Hoyt and decided to start racing with his son, who is 9 yrs. old, back in 2004. I couldn't find the article online, but I did find a website with some photos of them in a race. I'm sure they will be featured in more articles or stories soon! Here's the link: http://www.jstriclub.org/

Everytime I see stories like this, it really inspires me and makes me want to do the same thing. But, then I start thinking #1 I don't have the equipment and I'm sure it's difficult to get. #2 I'm not sure if Jordyn would like it! hahaha Maybe that should be my number one concern! Tom and I have talked about it before and we decided Jordyn wouldn't want to sit for that long and might hate the wind in her face. I can just see us in a race and Jordyn is screaming her head off because she hates it! hahaha But, you never know, maybe in the future when she is older, she would like it. I guess I could always run shorter races with her too. Maybe I can be the first MOM to race with their disabled child! Wouldn't that be so cool!?

You totally need to start TEAM BYBEE!! That would be so inspirational. Even in you only ran two miles, it would still be an inspiration to me.

That's so funny, Jon and I were just talking about the Dad/Son team the other day. It would be incredible if you did that with Jordyn. Just the fact that you entertain the idea makes me admire you that much more.

Go for it. You won't know if she'll like it unless you try it.

I was laughing imagining you in a race and Jordyn just screaming. Very funny. But if you tried it and she did like that would be so amazing. I really think you should do it. I would come cheer you on.
